Colophon

This translation and its accompanying word-by-word analysis were prepared as a personal study of the Śrī Dakṣiṇāmūrti Stotram.^[1]

The traditional closing verse of the hymn declares its own fruits of study:

Text and edition

The Devanagari source text follows the commonly received recension of the stotram as chanted in South Indian tradition. Variant readings exist across regional editions; where encountered, they are noted in the transliteration notes.

Colophon of the source hymn

The stotram itself closes without an explicit colophon in most editions, its final verse (the phalaśruti) serving as its own conclusion — a description of what is gained through hearing, reflecting upon, meditating on, and reciting the hymn.
